Getting Inside Llewyn Davis

I went to the movie Inside Llewyn Davis at the cheap seats theater by my house. It’s a movie about a struggling folk musician in the sixties. Bad luck follows Llewyn – the main character – whether it’s the suicide of his singing partner, failed romance, losing his friend’s cat, etc. – he doesn’t seem to be able to catch many breaks. Granted, he often has a bad attitude, and refuses to take advantage of opportunities to connect with people, and even has a habit of yelling angrily at his fellow musicians during their performances.

But despite his faults, there’s a part of you that has to admire the guy for sticking to his guns. For the most part, he’s unwilling to budge in compromising his ideals, except when he’s absolutely desperate for money. He’s not looking for the approval of his fellow man, and though he doesn’t say it…
